GIFT Nifty indicated that Indian equity indices BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty 50 may see a positive opening on Tuesday. Here’s a look at the key stocks to watch in trade.
Stocks in Focus: GIFT Nifty ended up by 22 points or 0.10% at 21,821.50 indicating a positive opening for domestic indices NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex on Tuesday. Previously, on Monday, the NSE Nifty 50 dropped 82.10 points or 0.38% to settle at 21,771.70, while the BSE Sensex plunged by 354.22 points or 0.49% to 71,731.42.
“Sluggish mood in global markets contributed to the overall weakness in local shares, as investors booked profit in select stocks amid dimming hopes of a rate cut in the near term. With the US Fed indicating that rate cut may not happen immediately, RBI is also expected to follow suit and maintain the status quo. Besides, rise in the US bond yields, persistent geopolitical tensions, and China’s economic woes added to existing woes. Technically, Nifty’s biggest support is placed at 21407 mark, and the landscape will be positive as long as Nifty trades above the 21137 mark with aggressive targets at 22127 mark,” said Prashanth Tapse, Senior VP (Research), Mehta Equities.
